Few know what really goes on at Burtons prototype facility in the Vermont woods, but its hard to believe ideas such as these dont come with a little inspiration,?? if you know what we mean. Seriously, who in their right mind thinks a board designed to be ridden 8-10 centimeters shorter than usual would rip the way the Nug does?
Due to serious tweaks in width, flex pattern and effective edge, this board is beyond classification, as we have seen nothing like it. Nimble? Agile? Responsive? in tight terrain due to shorter length and three stage V-Rocker, shralping powder in the trees now comes with Jedi- like precision. Yet the park is where the Nug really shines as its substantially decreased length, twin shape and buttery flex are sure to add the odd 180 here, 360 therebefore, on or after your chosen jib.
Because of its design you might think the Nugs stability would be compromised at higher speeds but again, youd be wrong. The Frostbite Edges combined with its sidecut profile allow ripping laps anywhere on the hill with little thought of sketchiness. Though it is unusual to look down and see a bite sized version of what you might be used to, the Nugs playfulness is worth a venture into such uncharted territories.
